Thank you so much to jazziz magazine for debuting my new single Makeshift Memorial. Devastatingly, this piece feels particularly relevant to today. In a world with ceaseless violence, and mounting tragedy, one cannot escape makeshift memorials; whether they have just been erected in Georgia, or at the myriad locations of equally unjust and tragic events. All that being said… Noahs’ tenor playing is breathtaking. Frank Carlberg’s creativity on this track is limitless. In particular his introduction. This track exemplifies how fortunate I am to work with such a stellar ensemble. Fantastic woodwind doubling, beautiful brass intonation, creative and dynamic rhythm section. Colour me lucky.
